Providing service to more than 3 million users on the Anatolian Side of Istanbul, AYEDAŞ sustained its efforts to offer more reliable, uninterrupted and high-quality energy supply to local population with its infrastructure investments and digitalization projects.
Serving on the Anatolian Side of Istanbul where urban transformation projects are ongoing intensively, AYEDAŞ sustained its maintenance, rehabilitation and investment activities in the region, which includes 8,404 substations and 34,821-kilometer-long power lines, in 2024. Besides its efforts to meet the increasing energy demand in the region and ensure sustainable energy distribution, AYEDAŞ also prioritized practices that would reduce its carbon footprint.
Strengthening the infrastructure on the Anatolian Side of Istanbul to ensure uninterrupted energy
With the goal of having better lit and resilient cities and developing solutions to minimize adverse impacts of seasonal and geographical conditions, AYEDAŞ carried out maintenance works for a total of 54,932 lighting fixtures in Adalar, Ataşehir, Beykoz, Çekmeköy, Kadıköy, Kartal, Maltepe, Pendik, Sancaktepe, Sultanbeyli, Şile, Tuzla, Ümraniye and Üsküdar districts. Besides, the company also carried out extensive maintenance works at 1,679 electric panels, 168 substations and 3,014 distribution centers. Moreover, the company completed maintenance works for 3,001-kilometer-long energy lines, contributing to the sustainability of the distribution.
Successfully achieving their investment goals for 2024, AYEDAŞ laid 756-kilometer-long new energy cables to meet infrastructure requirements, particularly in new residential areas and renewal areas. Furthermore, 2,215 new lighting fixtures were installed, while the energy grid was improved by the installation of 1,024 new panels and 143 substations. All these investments were planned in accordance with the altering socioeconomic structure of the Anatolian Side and were carried out in coordination with local governments. As of 2025, digital-oriented investments will continue in line with the goal to have a 90% smart grid.
More Efficient Energy Management with Technology-Oriented Solutions
Leading the digital transformation in the energy industry, AYEDAŞ accelerated technology-oriented projects in 2024 to improve its operational processes and enhance customer satisfaction. Mobile Telecommunication and Charging Stations, which were put into use as part of the Disaster and Emergency Wireless Telecommunication System Project carried out under the umbrella of Enerjisa Distribution Companies, contributed significantly to disaster management by enabling uninterrupted communication in times of crisis. Prioritizing digitalization in customer services as well, Enerjisa Distribution Companies facilitated users to get faster and more effective support via instant messaging with the ChatVolt application.
